Stephanie Luciano looked better than ever earlier today (Sat., Aug. 1, 2026) at UFC Belgrade LIVE on Paramount+ from inside Belgrade Arena in Belgrade, Serbia, silencing the crowd with a first-round submission (rear-naked choke) over Octagon newcomer Marina Spasic.
Not many fight fans had this matchup highlighted on their UFC Belgrade cards, but it delivered from the opening bell. Spasic, who was a big betting underdog entering her UFC debut, looked good in the early minutes with solid takedown defense and a lead jab that was snapping Luciano’s head back. Luciano kept her composure, though, and ended up scoring a flurry of punches that had Spasic backpedaling into the cage.
Moments later, Luciano timed a perfect takedown and dragged Spasic to the ground. Luciano quickly moved into full mount, which forced Spasic to turn over. From there, Luciano locked up the rear-naked choke and needed just a few seconds to tighten her squeeze and force the tap. It was pretty impressive.
