Milan have told Youssouf Fofana to find a new club, with the France midfielder now firmly outside Rúben Amorim’s plans and drawing interest from Crystal Palace and Marseille.
According to calciomercato.com , relaying Matteo Moretto, Milan have delivered a clear message to Fofana: he is out of the project and must sort out his future this summer.
The signs had been there for some time, Amorim views his squad as too deep and wants cuts, and Fofana was pointedly left out of the raft of substitutions in the recent friendly against Chelsea. The player’s representatives are now working to find a solution that suits all parties.

Fofana out of Amorim’s plans as suitors line up
The decision reflects a wider shift under Amorim, who has moved Milan away from a midfield three towards a double pivot, leaving a glut of options, Modrić, Adrien Rabiot, Ardon Jashari, Samuele Ricci and Yunus Musah among them, competing for two spots.
Fofana , who joined from Monaco for around €25m in 2024 and believed he could still contribute, is the first casualty.
Milan will listen to offers, setting a valuation of no less than €20m, with the minimum required to avoid a book loss standing at €13m.
The early interest has come from England, and Crystal Palace in particular, leading a group of Premier League clubs keen on the 27-year-old.
Marseille are another to watch: should Pierre-Emile Højbjerg leave for Newcastle, where new coach Matthias Jaissle has made the Dane a priority, the Ligue 1 side could move for Fofana as a replacement.
