See the full story · 1 sourcesLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Justin Wrobleski landed on the injured list with left forearm tightness on Sunday.
In a corresponding move, the Dodgers activated Kyle Hurt from the taxi squad .
Wrobleski, 26, has been on the MLB roster all season, and had a fantastic season up until the All-Star break. He had a 2.52 ERA as a starter heading into the All-Star break and had a solid outing in his first start after the break, but has struggled since. Over his last four outings, Wrobleski has allowed 20 runs, surrendering 11 homers in the process.
On the year, the southpaw has a 3.56 ERA through 126.1 innings pitched, and has struck out 100 batters.
Wrobleski’s inning total prompted concern over his workload earlier in the season, as he had never thrown more than 70 innings in MLB in one season prior to this year. Additionally, his total innings from this season are more than his previous two seasons combined.

Who Will Replace Justin Wrobleski?
Wrobleski’s spot in the rotation will likely stay vacant, as the Dodgers are short on arms due to injury. That being said, they can still run out a five-man rotation with their available starters.
They won’t have to do so for long, though, as Tyler Glasnow is soon to return from his rehab assignment. The right-hander will make one more start in the minors before returning, and the Dodgers expect him back with the team during their road trip to Detroit and Atlanta later in August.
Additionally, Shohei Ohtani threw a bullpen Friday, and is on track to return by the end of the season despite his lingering knee injury.
How Has Kyle Hurt Performed This Year?
Hurt returned from Tommy John surgery this season, and had a strong run of performances in his return before a difficult June derailed his season.
He had a 1.00 ERA through May, but a 8.38 ERA in June ballooned his season mark to 3.58.
Hurt’s struggles have persisted since, and he currently sits at a 4.46 ERA on the year so far. With his return to the team, Hurt will hope to aid a bullpen which has struggled over the past several weeks.
