See the full story · 1 sourcesTaylor Gray is on the Chase bubble with two races remaining in the 2026 NASCAR O'Reilly Series regular season. With the Chase drawing near, Gray has a six-point advantage over William Sawalich. In fact, three Joe Gibbs Racing drivers sit 11th to 13th in the standings, making this a very intriguing battle.
Brent Crews is above both Gray and Sawalich after missing four races, but the next two weekends might be unpredictable. While Gray can control his fate at Iowa Speedway, the regular season finale at Daytona International Speedway will ultimately dictate who makes the Chase in 2026.
Gray has one win, three top-5 finishes, and eight top-10 finishes during hte 2026 NASCAR season. The stat line isn't as impressive as Crews', but that doesn't matter with Daytona on the way. If Gray can have a very strong run at Iowa, he could keep Sawalich and Rajah Caruth behind him while passing Crews and Sam Mayer in the standings.
