Klay Thompson has become the center of that speculation, and a string of small but telling online moments this week has fans convinced a move to South Florida is closer than ever before.

The speculation gained fresh traction through a recent post detailing Thompson's activity online and his recent time spent in Miami this past week.
Thompson liked a comment encouraging him to join the Heat , while Antetokounmpo liked a separate post referencing Thompson - small gestures that fueled speculation after Miami prioritized perimeter shooting following the LeBron James pursuit.
Thompson was also spotted training in Miami this week, including sessions with Heat guard Brandin Podziemski, and reportedly got a haircut from the same barber Bam Adebayo uses.
Golden State insider Anthony Slater tied Thompson directly to the Heat's plans on national television. "They really need depth and they really need shooting," Slater said on NBA Today. Analysts have also detailed exactly how Thompson's movement shooting would complement Adebayo's playmaking inside the arc.
Thompson is entering the final year of his contract with Dallas and is set to earn roughly $17.5 million after averaging career lows of 11.7 points and 2.1 rebounds last season. He still shot 38.3 percent from three on healthy volume across 69 games played.

Other reports have outlined two separate paths the Heat could still pursue to eventually land him.
No trade or buyout has been finalized, and Dallas continues to control the pace of any potential deal moving forward. For now, Thompson's own social media activity remains the clearest signal fans have that Miami is where he wants to end up.
