ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky chimed in on the Browns' quarterback situation Monday morning, stating that he believes Cleveland would be making a huge mistake if Sanders does not start from Week 1.
"Starting anybody, but Shedeur Sanders is dumb," Orlovsky said. "Figure out what you have in Shedeur Sanders. Playing Deshaun [Watson] does nothing for your future."
Orlovsky's stance is one held by all Colorado fans and a seemingly growing majority of Browns' fans and media. The big question is if the Browns brass, led by head coach Todd Monken and possibly owner Jimmy Haslam, view the situation the same way.

Reports have differed throughout the offseason on whether Sanders or Watson has the edge, and despite Monken wanting to have a starter named before training camp, a month-plus-long battle is set to ensue.
Sanders is coming off a rookie season in which he threw for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. The numbers were far from spectacular, but he was dealing with a suspect offensive line and middling offensive skill players. Those factors, plus Monken's offense, should all aid Sanders if and when he starts for the Browns in 2026.
