But that doesn't mean other teams are, and it is here where some interesting developments have taken place.
Since Christian Parker took over the defense from Matt Eberflus, some players were shown the door because they didn't fit into Parker's scheme, or, quite simply, Dallas just didn't want them anymore.
And two players were moved on. Donovan Wilson and Jadeveon Clowney.
For Clowney, he was a late-season addition last year and ended up posting 8.5 sacks after starting just six games.

Many thought he would return to give the Cowboys' pass rush some juice, but the coaching staff thought otherwise.
But Cleveland is reportedly interested in what Clowney still has to offer, as per Mike Garafolo, Jadeveon is visiting the AFC North team, and is hoping to reunite with Todd Monken, as the pair crossed paths in Baltimore.
So that is one former Cowboy looking for an NFL lifeline, but we also have another.
Wilson, who spent seven years in Dallas, is also on the lookout for a new NFL team, as the hard-tackling safety was allowed to walk out the door this offseason.
And like Clowney, it appears another NFL team could be interested in his services, with ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting that Wilson is working out for the Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.

Like Clowney, there is a thread to pull because in Seattle, former Cowboys coach Aden Durde is the Seahawks' defensive coordinator. So, again, there is some familiarity there.
Both Clowney and Wilson are looking to get another NFL lifeline, and with both players working out with coaches who know their games well, it will be interesting to see how this shakes out.
The Browns need more pass-rushing help after moving on from Myles Garrett, and the Seahawks' secondary could use another veteran to add to the mix, and Wilson would also reunite with former Cowboys defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, who made the switch last offseason.
So that is two former Cowboys who could be back in the league after a short stint on the couch, but time will tell if they make a big enough impression on their respective coaching staffs.
