The 99 Club in the EA Sports Madden NFL video game is one of the highest honors a player can receive. Millions of people across the world will turn on their gaming equipment of choice, fire up the game and take the virtual field to play with the NFL's best.
That rating is just another indicator of a player's skill and dominance at the highest level of the sport.

It's the reason few gain entry, and there's no red velvet rope to get beyond in this case. No connections will help. The only thing that matters is the tape.
And the tape says that only six players, in the eyes of EA Sports, are worthy of being the best ahead of the 2026 NFL season. That is one fewer than the list for last year's game. Over the course of the season, players can enter the club, but there are only a select few that can stake their claim as original members this year.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba , WR, Seahawks
Josh Allen , QB, Bills
Matthew Stafford , QB, Rams
Myles Garrett , Edge, Rams
Trey McBride , TE, Cardinals
Chase, Allen and Garrett represent the holdovers from 2025, with Stafford, McBride and Smith-Njigba being new entrants.
Stafford is coming off his first NFL MVP award and Smith-Njigba was named the Offensive Player of the Year. McBride is an interesting choice, considering he plays for the lowly Cardinals, but his level of dominance at the tight end spot makes him a worthy recipient.
