See the full story · 2 sourcesThe Tampa Bay Buccaneers have enjoyed their recent run of free agent hits at the quarterback position. They started their hot run with a tenure with Tom Brady, which led to an eventual Super Bowl. From there, they then landed Baker Mayfield with a chip on his shoulder that has played the best years of his career in Tampa Bay.
However, this week, Mayfield took exception to the way the team conducted the contract talks with him and he took to the media to voice his frustration. He didn't mince words in stating how he feels, using words "disrespectful" and "disappointing."
After those media comments, ESPN's Adam Schefter discussed the state of the relationship between Mayfield and the Bucs.
He stated, "It almost feels like it's Baker (Mayfield) versus the team. Baker's not happy with them. They're not happy with the way he spoke about the organization. That's not great."
