The New England Patriots made more roster moves just prior to their preseason opener against the Indianapolis Colts. On Thursday, the team announced that it was placing running back Terrell Jennings on injured reserve .
Jennings is now out for the season with an undisclosed injury. He also spent time on the NFI list prior to training camp this offseason before being placed on season-ending IR.
The 25-year-old Jennings was in line to be the Patriots ’ RB3 once again behind Rhamondre Stevenson and TreVeyon Henderson, New England’s top two running backs. He recorded 73 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown for New England last season and was also used in the kick return game.
The loss opens the door for Patriots running backs Lan Larison, Jam Miller and Hassan Haskins to see more time against the Colts, with JaMycal Hasty now also in the offensive backfield after the Patriots signed him on Thursday.
