The New England Patriots have some tough decisions to make over the next few weeks about who to move on from.
Every Patriots fan seems to remember how bad the 2024 NFL Draft went, even if it landed them Drake Maye.
Outside of that, the Patriots have only one other player still on the roster: Marcellas Dial Jr. Dial, who went to the University of South Carolina, was a sixth-round pick in that 2024 draft.
The corner hasn't played well throughout his young career and, according to the latest reports, has struggled in camp. So much so that one reporter said that it feels like the clock is ticking on him.
“In terms of players who need to show some urgency over the next week or so, I’d include the backups along the interior of the offensive line, including Andrew Rupcich (guard depth remains an issue). The clock is also ticking at linebacker and cornerback (Marcellas Dial). There are roster spots to be won, and next week’s joint practices and preseason game with the Eagles represent other chances for players on the bubble to make a statement,” Christopher Price wrote .
Dial didn't play in any games last season due to an injury, but appeared in 17 games in his rookie season.
He wasn't terrible by any means, but wasn't exactly great. With a new coaching staff and other factors at play, it almost feels like his time in New England is coming to an end.
