BEREA ― The decision has been made. The wait will continue.
Coach Todd Monken said prior to the Browns ' 13th training camp practice Aug. 12 that he has made a decision on who will be his starting quarterback for the preseason opener in Chicago. The announcement, however, will have to wait until after that practice has concluded.
That includes for the two participants in the quarterback competition, Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders. Monken said he was going to inform the two after practice as well.
Monken has said that the quarterback who starts is likely to play the entire first half against the Bears . The one who doesn't is expected to play the third quarter.
The starters are expected to switch up for the second preseason game, Aug. 22 at home against the Buffalo Bills . The Browns also have a joint practice with the Bills Aug. 20.
This is a developing story. Check back for details.
