Speaking about a possible reinforcement in midfield earlier today, manager Hansi Flick said :
“We’re always thinking about improving the team and what’s best for it. But at the moment, I think we have a lot of midfielders. That’s the situation. We’ll see what happens over the next few weeks.”
For now, Barcelona remain a secondary player in the race for Rodri.
The Catalans are not leading negotiations and are unlikely to make an immediate move for the World Cup winner.
But executives are monitoring developments closely and have asked to be kept in the loop in case talks between Manchester City and Real Madrid break down.
