The Miami Dolphins open their 2026 preseason playing the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland.
The Dolphins flew up north on Tuesday and held a joint practice with the Commanders on Wednesday. Miami coach Jeff Hafley said everyone healthy is expected to play . That means new quarterback Malik Willis should be making his Dolphins debut.
One Washington player the Dolphins won't see is left tackle Laremy Tunsil . The former Miami player underwent surgery to repair a torn triceps suffered during training camp and is expected to miss the bulk of the 2026 season.
Dolphins injury updates heading into game at Commanders
Defensive lineman Zach Sieler (unspecified) is out against Washington and could miss a few weeks.
Cornerback Chris Johnson (unspecified) did not participate in the joint practice with Washington.
Other players who have been out injured include: Chris Bell, Kevin Coleman, Dante Trader and JuJu Brents.
