NBA rosters are being finalized, and so are rosters in leagues across Europe.
We often see some NBA players sign with a team in a non-NBA league when they have yet to sign a contract at this point in the offseason.
One of those players was a Celtics ' recent 2025 draft pick, who is heading to Spain.
Celtics 2025 Draft Pick Signs Contract Overseas With Real Madrid
On Friday, it was announced that former Celtic player Max Shulga is signing a new two-year deal with Real Madrid (via BasketNews ).
Shulga was drafted by the Celtics with the 57th overall pick in last year's draft. He signed a two-way contract, playing most of his time up in Maine with the franchise's G-League affiliate.

He did play 11 games with the Boston Celtics, but averaged just 3.3 minutes.
In 39 games with the Maine Celtics last season (tip-off tournament + regular season), Shulga averaged 15.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.4 assists.
He became a free agent at the end of this past season, as the Celtics decided not to bring him back.
He also played briefly in the California Classic about a month ago with the Warriors before making the decision to move back to Europe.
