Five-star center Dylan Betts will take an unofficial visit to North Carolina from September 25-27, the third of four scheduled unofficial visits he plans to make. Michigan and Illinois will come before his trip to North Carolina, while Alabama will host the final visit from October 9-12.
Betts is rated a five-star prospect by both 247Sports and Rivals, and is a top-five center nationally in the 2028 recruiting cycle.
The 7-foot-4 big man is originally from Colorado and will play his junior season at IMG (FL) Academy.
Betts stands as the tallest prospect in the Rivals150, and height runs in the family. Not only does height run in the family, but basketball excellence does, too.
Betts is the younger brother of former McDonald’s All-American Game MVP and current UCLA forward Sienna Betts, as well as 2026 NCAA Tournament Women’s Most Outstanding Player Lauren Betts, so he already comes from a well-known basketball family. Lauren was selected No. 4 overall in this year’s WNBA Draft.
His father, Andy Betts, stands 7-foot-1 and starred at Long Beach State, where he averaged 18.7 points and 10.1 rebounds as a senior before being taken No. 50 overall by the Charlotte Hornets. Born in England, he played professionally in Europe for 14 years.
Dylan’s mother, Michelle, played volleyball at Long Beach State and helped the school win the 1993 national championship.
This summer, Betts played for the Legynds on Nike’s EYBL E16 Circuit where he averaged 12.3 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.9 blocks while shooting 51.2 percent from the floor.
