See the full story · 2 sourcesPhiladelphia Eagles running back Ja'Quinden Jackson has "strength and movement in all extremities and is being taken to a local hospital for further evaluation," per the team .
Jackson suffered the injury on the opening kickoff of Saturday night's game against the New England Patriots.
The running back reportedly went to make a tackle and appeared to take a knee to the head. The impact seemed to knock him out as he fell onto his back.
Jackson appeared to go into the fencing position on his back as trainers from both teams ran out to check on him.
Ultimately, the ambulance was brought out onto the field as the entire Eagles team surrounded their teammate in support. Jackson was loaded onto a backboard and taken to a local hospital to be checked out, but it is a good sign that he is responding and has the strength and movement in his extremities.
Jackson went undrafted in the 2025 NFL Draft and spent last season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
He didn't see any game action and was waived this offseason. Jackson is in training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles, hoping to secure a spot on the 53-man roster or practice squad for the regular season.
Jackson could add depth to the Eagles' running back room. Philadelphia will start Saquon Barkley and have Tank Bigsby as his main backup. After that, the current depth at the position includes Will Shipley and Dameon Pierce.
