Brian Thomas Jr. sees strength in Jaguars' deep receiving corps
The Jacksonville Jaguars have arguably one of the strongest wide receiver rooms in the NFL. Most of the attention has been placed on Brian Thomas Jr., who had a stellar rookie season followed by a down second year. However, he has performed well throughout OTAs and training camp, and expectations are high for his third year.
In addition to Thomas, though, the Jaguars also have Jakobi Meyers and Parker Washington, who both became favorite targets of quarterback Trevor Lawrence in 2025, and two-way star Travis Hunter.
Between the four, the group has been ranked as among the best in the league, particularly if Thomas does turn in a stronger performance in 2026. And regardless, one of the benefits of this group is that each receiver brings something unique to the table, meaning there isn't necessarily one star expected to stand above the rest.
In a press conference, Thomas didn't agree that it was unusual to have the production spread out, even if it means that the four of them aren't turning in mind-blowing stat lines.

"It just goes to complement the offense that we have, and goes to complement all the work that we put in for each and every one of us to be able to go out there and do big things. I would just say it complements us, and we complement each other being able to do different things. We all can go out there and do a lot, and just be able to spread the ball around, and just be in the right spots where we're supposed to be."
It's known at this point, judging by his rookie season, that Thomas is capable of putting up big numbers. Yet he also appears to have fully bought into head coach Liam Coen's "players over plays" mentality. In Coen's scheme, individual production from one week to the next can ebb and flow with the matchups dictating who sees more targets in a given game.
Jacksonville's coaching staff has also heavily emphasized a culture of unselfishness, prioritizing what is best for the team over one individual's accomplishments.
And as Thomas understands, a wide receiver room with talented players who have different skill sets only serves to make the offense stronger and more difficult to defend.
