However, with Reid out of the picture and Julius Randle traded to the Brooklyn Nets , Minnesota is quite thin in the frontcourt besides Rudy Gobert. For that reason, they've emerged as a suitor for one of the best remaining free agents, Jonathan Kuminga. The Timberwolves could bring on Kuminga with a $6 million taxpayer mid-level exception.
While other suitors could offer the former Warriors forward more, Minnesota may be able to offer him the largest role of any contender interested in his services.
