Fort Defiance swept all four matches it played at the Tom Farruggio Invitational volleyball tournament in Fluvanna Aug. 29.
In the process, Fort's Amber Pitsenbarger recorded her 100th career win. She now has 102 wins in her fifth season as the team's head coach.
Fort opened the season Aug. 25 with a sweep of Turner Ashby before returning to action at the Saturday tournament.
Because it was a multi-match tournament format, teams played just two sets per match.
Fort Defiance beat East Rockingham 25-13, 25-5
Caroline Hanger had nine kills, seven digs and three aces. Annalee Halterman finished with five kills. Norah Anderson had five aces. Alexis Miller had 17 assists and five digs, while Abbi Bright had five digs.
Fort Defiance beat Broadway 25-6, 25-19
Caroline Hanger had six kills and four digs, and Harper Carter added five kills. Madison Bragg had five aces in the win. Alexis Miller had 16 assists.
Fort Defiance beat Western Albemarle 25-17, 25-20
Caroline Hanger and Harper Carter had five kills each, while Alexis Miller added 13 assists. Abbi Bright had three aces and three digs. Norah Anderson had seven digs.
Fort Defiance beat Central Woodstock 25-14, 25-16
Caroline Hanger had 13 kills, four digs and three aces to lead Fort Defiance. Harper Carter added five kills and Alexis Miller had 25 assists and seven digs. Livia Clinedinst had six kills in the win. Norah Anderson and Abbi Bright both had six digs.
