Reacher Season 4 returns this week with another new episode on Prime Video, following the events of last week’s surprise twist and bloody cliffhanger. Here's when Episode 5 arrives, what to expect and the complete remaining Season 4 release schedule.
Episode 5 arrives on Prime Video on Wednesday, August 26. Prime Video releases new episodes globally at the same time, which means viewers on the West Coast can watch at midnight PT while East Coast viewers can tune in at 3 a.m. ET. Here’s what that translates to in your time zone:
Episode 5 is titled “Bridge,” and picks up with Reacher in even deeper trouble following the twisty-turny events of last week’s episode. A “misunderstanding” leaves Reacher the most wanted men in Philadelphia, as both old enemies and dangerous new adversaries close in on all sides. Meanwhile, Jacob, Tamara and Plum find themselves caught up in another dangerous side-quest.
Expect more big action and a shift in momentum, as last week’s episode revealed not everything was as clear cut as it seemed. Revenge is in the air, though we still have yet to fully understand just what exactly is going on with all these different factions Reacher finds himself pinned between.
As with every season of Reacher, most of the cast is brand new. Reacher is the ultimate hobo hero, traveling from one town to another, getting mixed up in one conflict after another usually with a new – and attractive – love interest. Here’s the main cast for Season 4:
We’re halfway through Season 4, which means only four episodes remain.
Production for Reacher Season 5 is already underway, though no release date for the fifth season has been announced. The spinoff series, Neagley , drops in its entirety on September 16 when Reacher’s Season 4 finale lands.

So far, Reacher has been a pretty mixed bag across its four seasons, and certainly in Season 4. The first couple episodes started out strong, but by the third I was starting to get worried, and the fourth left me deeply concerned that Season 4 would be a retread of all (or at least most) of the mistakes made in Seasons 2 and 3.
The Rotten Tomatoes score currently sits at 94%, which is solid enough, but Seasons 2 and 3 both sported 98% scores, which I find incredibly inflated. Their audience scores were closer to 70%. Audiences like Season 4 a bit more, at 82%, while Season 1 scored a 91% with audiences compared to 92% from critics.

This is also a good example of why aggregators aren't always reliable measures of quality. Season 1 is, in my view, clearly a far better season than any of the three that followed, but it was reviewed by nearly twice as many critics. It's possible there's some selection bias at work here: critics who didn't particularly care for Reacher may simply have stopped reviewing it, leaving later seasons with a smaller pool of reviewers predisposed to enjoy the show. Whatever the explanation, I certainly wouldn't take those 98% scores to mean Seasons 2 and 3 were better than Season 1.
Still, I love Ritchson in this role, and even if the story is pretty goofy, the action is at least well-choreographed this season. I'm curious to find out what's actually going on. I've read many of Lee Child's novels, but not Gone Tomorrow , so I'm going into this particular mystery blind.
I'd recommend watching. Just set your expectations accordingly.
