Yuki Kawamura , the Japanese Olympian point guard who played for the Pacers during this year's NBA Summer League, has signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Clippers according to post on the team's official X account. An Exhibit 10 contract is considered a one-year, non-guaranteed minimum salary contract, but if a player who signs one is waived before the season starts -- and most players who sign Exhibit 10 contracts are waived, sometimes within days of signing -- they are eligible for a sizable bonus if they stay with that team's G League affiliate for at least 60 days. This year, that bonus is projected to be up to about $91,000.
Kawamura posted totals of 41 points and 24 assists in five Summer League games with the Pacers against just 10 turnovers. The 24 assists were 11th most in all of NBA Summer League and first among players who played less than 100 minutes. However, he was just 11 of 32 from the floor (34.4%) and 1 of 13 from 3-point range during the event.
Kawamura gained international fame during the 2024 Summer Olympics when he averaged 20.3 points and 7.7 assists per game for Japan and scored 29 points in an overtime group play loss to eventual silver medalist France. He played the last two seasons on two-way contracts, first with the Memphis Grizzlies and then with the Chicago Bulls . He averaged 3.4 points and 2.6 assists for the Bulls last season and he's averaging 14.3 points and 9.0 assists per game in his G League career.
