On Friday, Micah Parsons’ brother, Terrence Parsons Jr., celebrated the linebacker’s first anniversary of the four-year, $188 million contract extension with the Green Bay Packers. The contract was signed exactly one year ago, i.e., on Aug. 28, 2025.
The Dallas Cowboys traded Parsons to Green Bay for Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark, a 2026 first-round pick and a 2027 first-round pick. The trade transpired after a prolonged contract issue between the Cowboys and Parsons during last year’s offseason. Terrence wrote that Green Bay was the perfect destination for Micah and spoke highly of how the organization has embraced the family.
“I never knew how Much I would love GB. The love Micah got the way Packers Nation embraced the fam and me – it was like it was always meant to be a Packer he in a situation that best fits him. I wouldn’t have it any other way❤️ time to go get a ring,” Terrence wrote on X.
Meanwhile, fans shared their verdict on how things have turned out since the trade.

Micah Parsons Gives Update on 2026 NFL Return
Micah Parsons suffered a torn ACL on December 14, 2025, in the Week 15 game against the Denver Broncos. He underwent surgery on December 29 and has been rehabbing since.
During his appearance on Bleacher Report, Parsons spoke about his return in the 2026 season and acknowledged the demand of returning in Week 6 when the Packers face his former team, the Cowboys.
“I’m not going to lie, the rehab is going really good,” Parsons said. “We’re getting stronger. We’re moving a little bit now. We’re running. We’re starting to change direction. It’s coming along… The people really want Week 6. I just want to come back when I’m feeling like myself again. Packer Nation, just know when I come back, it’s going to be up.”
In the meantime, Green Bay’s defense will have to do it without Parsons. New defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon will require other players to step up, including Lukas Van Ness, Brenton Cox Jr., Barryn Sorrell, Collin Oliver, and Dani Dennis-Sutton.
