Trey McBride falls short of top TE spot in PFF TE rankings
Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride is coming off a record-setting season in 2025. After a 111-catch season in 2024, he had 126 catches in 2025. He finished second in the NFL behind Puka Nacua, set an NFL single-season record for tight ends and also set a franchise single-season record for receptions, regardless of position.
However, that wasn't enough to get him to No. 1 in PFF's tight end rankings for 2026 .
He comes in at No. 2, still behind San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle.
McBride has quickly emerged as one of the best tight ends in football. The 26 year old has been the league’s most valuable tight end across the last two seasons, according to PFF’s WAR metric. His 1,239 receiving yards in 2025 were 311 more than any other tight end in football, and place 11th all-time for a tight end in a single season. McBride’s 1,146 yards in 2024 also ranked second at the position.
While McBride is the most valuable over the last two seasons, Kittle has been over the last three and finished with the highest PFF rating (90.7) at the position. Kittle is known as being both great at receiving and gret at blocking.
McBride isn't a mauler as a blocker, but no one is a more feared pass catcher.
While Cardinals fans probably think this is a snub, it's still really great.
