Quarterbacks get all the attention these days, but the reality is that even Brady was throwing the ball to Randy Moss (and Rob Gronkowski), and Joe Montana would be the first to admit that his career benefited greatly from having Jerry Rice on the receiving end of his passes.
Receivers have never been better than they are today, and that’s a big part of why we’re in the golden era of quarterback play across the league. The surplus of talent in the league is so high that teams have found themselves with an embarrassment of riches at the league’s most dynamic position. Here’s a list of the top five wide receiver tandems heading into the season.
5. Detroit Lions – Amon Ra St.Brown & Jameson Williams
The Detroit Lions don’t often get thought of as one of the league’s premier passing attacks, but this duo has quietly helped quarterback Jared Goff become one of the most consistent passers in the league. St. Brown has been one of the most lethal options in the slot in the league, if not the most lethal option, and Williams can take the top off any defense.
Williams’ route running and some of the finer, more technical aspects of his game could use some refining, but even if he never improved, and he almost certainly will, he and his running mate are plenty dangerous enough as is.
4. Minnesota Vikings – Justin Jefferson & Jordan Addison
Jefferson had what could be classified as a down year under the oppression of the Vikings’ 2025 quarterback room. And by oppression, we mean he finished the campaign with 84 catches for 1,048 yards and two touchdowns. Addison missed time last year due to disciplinary action, but still had a solid year, catching 42 passes for 610 yards and three scores.
Had these two had serviceable quarterback play last season, their numbers certainly would’ve been a lot more impressive, and in 2026, with veteran Kyler Murray running the show, there’s a real chance we see this duo hit its stride.
3. Los Angeles Rams – Puka Nacua & Davante Adams
Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford won his first MVP last season, and he has these two to thank for the league’s highest individual honor. Nacua is a black hole that swallows footballs and spits out first downs, finishing last year with a league-leading 80 of them. The 25-year-old has been a revelation, but his running mate just happens to be one of the all-time greats.
Adams doesn’t have the insane high-volume production numbers that he did earlier in his career with Aaron Rodgers, but when Los Angeles gets in the red area, he’s a touchdown waiting to happen. Adams isn’t passing the torch to Nacua, they juggle it back and forth down-to-down, and it’s become a nightmare situation for opposing defenses.
2. Cincinnati Bengals -Ja’Marr Chase & Tee Higgins
Joe Burrow has struggled to stay healthy, but these two are capable of making veterans like Joe Flacco feel 20 again. Chase has been a first-team All-Pro in each of the last two seasons, and for good reason. He not only seems to come down with every ball thrown in his stratosphere, but he’s as dangerous as they come when he has it in his hands as well. It’s hard to argue there’s a better receiver than him in the league. There’s nothing he doesn’t do at an All-World level.
As for Higgins, health concerns have been a mainstay throughout his career, but when he’s available, he’s one of the only pass-catchers in the business who might be a better contested-catcher than Chase. When Burrow is on the field to unlock this pair’s full potential, there’s not a whole lot secondaries can do other than hope and pray.
1. Dallas Cowboys CeeDee Lam & George Pickens
Lamb has dealt with and played through injuries the last couple of seasons, and unfortunately, that, along with Dallas’ lack of playoff success, has led many to forget what he brings to the table. Even still, those injuries didn’t stop him from snagging 176 catches for 2,271 yards and nine scores in 29 games over the past two seasons.
Then there’s Pickens. There’s no argument he isn’t prone to the occasional mental lapse or seven, but when he was locked in last season, his first in Dallas, he may have been better than Lamb. Lamb operating in the slot while Pickens dominates as a traditional X has made these two the perfect complement for one another. It’s hard to imagine a front office picking a better receiver duo in a fantasy draft.
