While the start of the 2026 college football season is nearly here, the start of the high school football season is even closer. Teams across the country took part in exhibitions on Friday before the start of the 2026 season next week, and another Florida State commit had an impressive game.
Quarterback commit Logan Flaherty showed why he is such a good fit in Mike Norvell's offense, which is at its best when the quarterback is also a threat in the running game. Flaherty and Port Charlotte High School were beating Riverview High School 28-21 with a chance to get some more breathing room in the fourth quarter, but were facing a 3rd and 13 from their own 24-yard line.
Flaherty dropped back to pass, but with Riverview getting pressure immediately he tucked the ball and despite slipping in the pocket, broke two tackles before running away from the rest of the defense for a 76-yard touchdown to give them the 35-21 lead.

He was a dual-threat as a junior, completing 60.8% of his passes for 2,636 yards, 27 touchdowns, and seven interceptions, and running for 595 yards and 11 more touchdowns on 140 carries.
He is ranked as the No. 802 overall player and No. 39 quarterback in the 247Sports composite. He is also the No. 69 player from Florida.
