Stefon Diggs Linked to 'Intriguing' NFC East Team: Report

Former All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs is still without a team, but that could change in the coming weeks, with an "intriguing" NFC East squad recently linked to him.
Diggs played for Mike Vrabel and the New England Patriots last season, achieving notoriety as the team's top target for star quarterback Drake Maye. However, the team released him in March, weeks after losing the Super Bowl to the Seattle Seahawks.
That put Diggs into free agency, and amid his off-field controversies and troubles, several teams reportedly have interest in adding him to their roster.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Sunday's "SportsCenter," there are "at least five teams that need a receiver that are checking in on his market" while Diggs is working out on his own this offseason.

Fowler also mentioned that Diggs is "highly motivated" this offseason during his workouts, since he's not in rehabilitation mode for an ACL injury like previously. He suffered a brutal ACL tear in October 2024 while playing for his former team, the Houston Texans, against the Indianapolis Colts.
He's since returned and was the Patriots' top receiver, with the most targets of any on the roster. Now it appears the Commanders are on the radar, as they feature a situation that could work for him.
"Washington is intriguing to him because Jayden Daniels, a young quarterback, he's from that DMV area. The rumors around the league are that Washington could add a receiver at some point to go with Terry McLaurin, so something should shake out for Diggs," Fowler said.
Diggs, who has been in the league since 2015, managed to rack up 1,013 yards and four touchdowns for New England last season. In addition to playing for New England and Houston, the four-time Pro Bowler had stints with the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings during his career.
After his season with the Patriots, the Commanders would offer a fresh start for Diggs, who hails from Gaithersburg, Maryland. Washington finished 5-12 last season and failed to qualify for the playoffs, but having Daniels healthy again to throw to receivers like McLaurin and Diggs could potentially make them a team vying for the playoffs.
After his breakout campaign in 2024, Daniels was hindered by various injury woes last season, playing in only seven games. He threw for 1,262 yards and eight touchdowns, but it was far from the stellar sophomore season he or Commanders fans were hoping for.
He'll be back on the field when the Commanders begin their season on Sunday, Sept. 13, with a visit to the Philadelphia Eagles.
