See the full story · 2 sourcesIf there was ever a figure in the NFL who personifies the phrase “the gift that keeps on giving,” it’s Jerry Jones and the quotes he drops throughout every NFL season.
Jones just dropped a bomb in a press conference after training camp on Tuesday. The Dallas Cowboys owner talked with the media and said the team is looking towards making a blockbuster deal for a massive star player .

The exact quote was “Candidly, I’d be very interested, I’d give up future to add substantive to where we are today as to a player to give you an idea. Would I invest something substantive to get the right kind of deal to improve us on opening day? I would.”
Jones even took it a step further and said he was on the phone with another team’s owner recently. “Yesterday, I talked to another team and another owner.” Completely out of nowhere Jones has the NFL world buzzing, which he’s known to do.
A trend that continues in Dallas. The Cowboys and Jones aren’t afraid to create headlines and make bold decisions. The only question is: what player could be headed to Dallas? One name makes the most sense.

The NFL offseason isn’t over quite yet, and Crosby has already been traded once this offseason, almost becoming a Baltimore Raven before a failed physical.
What do the Cowboys need most? More defense, an alpha in the pass rush. Crosby is that and more. The cost for Crosby would be a minimum of two first-round picks, and potentially a player on top of that. Also, the Cowboys aren’t going to try to add a star offensive player; they have tons of them. Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens are arguably the best WR duo in the NFL.

Even though a Crosby trade makes sense, Dallas should’ve just kept Micah Parsons. Now, with some picks they acquired from that trade, Jerry Jones can flip those into adding Crosby. If Jones really sees this team contending, then defense will be the big move.
