Kenyon Sadiq caught 51 balls at Oregon last season, scoring eight times and averaging 11 yards per catch in the process. He emerged after hardly being used as a pass catcher by the Ducks in the two years prior, and that vaulted him into the first round of April’s draft. Does the draft capital spent put him in a position to return fantasy football value in Year 1?
Should I Draft Kenyon Sadiq in Fantasy Football?
Dynasty leagues are a different animal. This is an athlete that can be the future of the position for a team that is being torn down to the studs.
I’m interested long-term, but I’m actively making excuses not to get involved in this passing game for 2026. Geno Smith has thrown 60 touchdown passes in 47 games over the past three seasons and is pretty clearly on the back-9 of his career.

If he was the only show in town, you’d have a chance at using the raw volume argument, but Garrett Wilson is pretty clearly a strong top option, and Omar Cooper Jr. was brought in to offer a secondary vertical threat (15.6 yards per catch during his three seasons at Indiana).
Passing on Sadiq doesn’t mean he won’t have any top-12 weeks. In fact, I think he will. This is a pro-level athlete playing in an offense that figures to slant heavily toward the pass given game scripts.
Predicting his usable weeks is something I don’t think we can do, and I refuse to chase it. Injuries kicked in last season and that’s certainly part of it, but this Jets offense didn’t have a single player reach 400 receiving yards.
Not one.

For me, that’s crazier than the fact that the New York didn’t intercept a single pass last season.
There’s a lot of similarity at the TE position once you get outside of the top 10, which puts us firmly in the wait-and-see camp. If it’s clear that Sadiq’s development is a priority for what figures to be a lost 2026 season, you can be the first to pounce. I’m not holding my breath on that, however, and I’d rather spend a waiver priority on him if I’m wrong than burn a pick during the draft that I can use on a player I have projected more favorably.
