Tampa Bay defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 16-15 in a comeback win that saw a brief appearance from the starting lineup and another impressive performance by rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels. The Bucs defense, particularly the pass rush, frustrated the Chiefs offense all night. This allowed Daniels to take advantage and lead three straight scoring drives to steal a win from the Chiefs.

The Good: The outside linebackers
The Bucs' newly reconfigured edge rush was on full display against the Chiefs, making life miserable for Kansas City's quarterbacks. Though their time on the field was brief, Yaya Diaby and Reuben Bain Jr. made their presence known, providing key pressures in Kansas City's early three-and-outs. Virtually every other outside linebacker due to make the final roster hit the stat sheet, recording two sacks and eight quarterback hits.
The Good: Jalon Daniels
It is getting harder and harder to justify keeping Jalon Daniels off the final 53-man roster. Through two preseason games, he has provided a spark to Tampa Bay's offense that no other quarterback has been able to replicate. All of the Bucs' points against Kansas City came with Daniels under center, and he was Tampa Bay's second-leading rusher.
The Bad: Tampa Bay's offense outside of Jalon Daniels
There was a marked difference in how the Bucs' offense looked with Jalon Daniels at the helm than with Tampa Bay's other quarterbacks. In Baker Mayfield's two drives, the call sheet was particularly conservative. When Mayfield wasn't handing the ball off to a running back, he was throwing a screen or quick pass. Jake Browning had a rough night, enduring a leaky offensive line and three sacks.
The Ugly: Tampa Bay's pass protection
The Bucs' lack of a first or second-string left tackle limited Tampa Bay's offense for most of the night. Third-string tackle Paul Rubelt played the entire game and was overwhelmed by Kansas City's better defensive players. Right tackle Marshall Foerner nearly got Jake Browning killed on a Felix Anudike-Uzomah sack. Guards Luke Haggard and Dan Feeney were veritable turnstiles. While none of these linemen are starters, their poor play reflects poorly on the offensive line's overall readiness.
