The Los Angeles Rams have been able to squeeze out phenomenal performances from veteran players during the Sean McVay era, largely thanks to his coaching foundation and the often unexpected rise of undervalued players from the rest of the roster.
While the team does have older players, they are often some of the best at their position, and in 2026, there are eight players who are projected to be on the 53-man roster who are 30 years of age or older. Three of those players, Matthew Stafford, Davante Adams, and Myles Garrett, made CBS Sports ' top 30 players who are 30 or older.
Adams was ranked at No. 24 after leading the NFL in touchdown catches, while Stafford and Garrett finished fourth and second, respectively. The MVP and Defensive Player of the Year are set to be the first holders of the awards to enter a season as teammates.
Interestingly enough, despite Stafford's MVP, both Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen were ranked above him, at No. 3 and 1, respectively.
Even though Stafford has the most recent MVP, Josh Allen currently holds the belt as the NFL's top quarterback. The Bills quarterback is a force both through the air and as a runner, totaling 39 touchdowns (25 passing and 14 rushing) during the 2025 regular season.
Stafford did throw for 46 touchdowns in the same timeframe. However, Mahomes and Allen often get the nod, as Stafford is on a strong roster and in an elite offensive system. For the team's five other players 30 or older who weren't in the rankings, they are Coleman Shelton, Tyler Higbee, David Quessenberry, and Poona Ford – three producers and a critical depth piece. Not a bad way to incorporate older players.
