The Greenbrier boasts a state-of-the-art performance center, built in 2014, that has a locker room and multiple fields conducive to hosting an NFL team for training camp. o, New York will take its training camp on the road for 12 days to West Virginia. It was a decision that was in the works before new coach John Harbaugh was hired. And the Greenbrier meets the Giants’ needs with two grass fields, a turf option (in case of rain), meeting rooms, offices, a weight room, player and coach locker rooms, a training room, a hydrotherapy room and an equipment room.
The conditions are also conducive to a comfortable training camp. Temperatures usually range from the low 60s to around 80 degrees with low humidity in the mountains of West Virginia — cooler than the swamps of New Jersey.

The need is clear after Big Blue traded Dexter Lawrence — perhaps the only current nose tackle better than Vea — this offseason. D.J. Reader is a solid veteran who can plug a hole, but he’s no Vea. It would take some work to fit Vea under the cap, but that shouldn’t be a prohibitor in the year of our Lord 2026 — of course, if the Giants didn’t want to pay Lawrence, they might balk at this scenario as well. Perhaps the Bucs would be interested in a Kayvon Thibodeaux swap? Vea playing alongside the likes of Brian Burns and Abdul Carter would provide a lethal front. Vea’s presence would also help clog the lanes for rookie Arvell Reese to torpedo in from the second level.

The Giants have been targeting a Week 1 return for Nabers, so they obviously didn’t prioritize the ability to potentially shift him to the reserve/PUP list. And even if Nabers isn’t ready for the opener, the Giants can evaluate him weekly rather than locking in a four-game absence.
Of course, the Giants are hoping Nabers’ earlier start to practice this summer has him ready for Week 1. Avoiding the PUP list was a promising first step, but it’s not the final checkpoint. It will be a gradual process for Nabers and, barring any setbacks, it’s fair to be optimistic that he’ll be in the lineup against the Cowboys.

Is Jaxson Dart The Guy? Everything about the Giants’ fortunes in the 2026 NFL season centers around the ability of second-year quarterback Jaxson Dart to grow as a pocket passer and a game manager and finisher. Dart, 23, has a lot on his plate to accomplish that.
He is learning a new offense under a new coach and coordinator. He is in the public spotlight on the political side now after aligning with Donald Trump, which puts a different kind of spotlight on a young player who needs fewer distractions. Year 1 of Harbaugh’s program must be viewed as the beginning of a rebuild and turnaround that is not going to happen overnight. Dart, though, controls whether or not 2026 brings immediate promise in the team’s current core or if it demonstrates there is even more work to do than Harbaugh had hoped when he took the job.

“It’s so huge to have that guy. I’ve been over there, and when John Harbaugh is in front of that group and they sit in that little theatre there with the lectern in front and Harbs comes in through that side door, trust me, everyone sits up straight and they’re a little bit nervous, because they know he’s the man and he is in charge.
“But how he presents himself to the team, I’m just a big believer in him. He’s like Parcells. It didn’t matter if I had a great game or not; he’d come walk in that side door and he’d throw a pen on lectern and it was, not really fear, but he commanded your attention. What he’s creating there is a really good thing for that team.”

Predictably, [John Harbaugh] got roasted on social media, because social media is a cynical place. But, again, this is in line with who Harbaugh is and what he built over 18 years in Baltimore. It reflected his reverence for the game’s history and, obviously, the Giants’ place in it—and that was indeed a real factor in why he picked New York over the other options he had in January. It also showed what he wants his players to establish, which is almost a college-like pride in the program they’re about to build.
Bottom line, over 18 years, it wasn’t tough to identify what his Ravens were. My fourth-grader could spell it out. Big, tough, rugged, resourceful and smart. And it matches, in many ways, what the Giants’ best teams over the past half-century or so have been. So passing that mantle of Giants history on to the players in an effort to build a program that resembles the type he had in Baltimore makes all the sense in the world. Was the delivery of the message a little old-timey? Maybe. But that’s how the Harbaughs talk, and it’s genuine. And I’d bet, contrary to what people on X think, it works.
