The Yankees have acquired infielder Luis Garcia Jr . from the Washington Nationals in exchange for Jake Bird, Jack Cebert, Yovanny Cruz, and Ben Grable.

With Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger out with injuries, the Yankees needed to bring in another power hitter.
