Zendaya said there's one thing Tom Holland does better than she does.
Holland is "good at setting the boundaries really clearly, really strong," she said.
The pair recently shared the screen in "The Odyssey," and will reunite in the coming "Spider-Man" film.
Zendaya said Tom Holland is better than she is at setting boundaries.
Speaking alongside Holland in a joint interview with French YouTuber HugoDécrypte on Monday, Zendaya said she admired Holland's ability to draw clear lines and to stand up for himself and others.
"Something I am always impressed with Tom about, which I feel like I want to inherit more of," Zendaya said. "You're a big stickler for respect and kindness."
She said Holland makes his expectations around respect and kindness clear from the outset, then firmly enforces those boundaries if they're crossed.
On the other hand, she tends to be more conciliatory and more likely to smooth things over than draw a hard line, she said.
"You're good at setting the boundaries really clearly, really strong," Zendaya said.
"I like that you really know what you feel is right for yourself, and you do it, and for others. You're very protective in that way," Zendaya said.
True enough, when it was his turn to answer, Holland ended the exchange with a joke.
"Speaking of boundaries, I'm not going to share my most valuable piece of advice I got from Zendaya," he said.
The couple — and longtime costars — have previously spoken about the influence they've had on each other.
In a 2024 interview with Vanity Fair , Zendaya said it's "strangely comfortable" acting alongside Holland, with whom she's been in a public relationship since 2021.
"It's like second nature, if anything. You feel extra safe with the person you're acting beside. I love working with him. He's so talented, and so passionate about what he does. He always gives things one thousand percent, even if he's absolutely worn down," she said.
Earlier this month, Holland said he initially hesitated to accept a role in Christopher Nolan's " The Odyssey " because filming would overlap with "Spider-Man: Brand New Day." Zendaya, he said, jokingly told him she'd "leave" him if he turned it down.
The scheduling conflict was ultimately resolved after Sony delayed production, allowing the couple to appear in both films.
"The Odyssey" hit theaters on July 17, while "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" opens July 31.
