Caitlin Clark is perhaps the biggest name in the WNBA right now. Most nights, her deep three-pointers, high-velocity passes, and incredible court vision dominate the headlines. This time, however, the spotlight is on something entirely different. Clark is piling up technical fouls at an alarming rate.
After the WNBA upheld her latest one, Indiana Fever teammate Aliyah Boston has jokingly suggested an unusual solution that could help keep the franchise star on the court.

Clark picked up her seventh technical foul of the season during the Indiana Fever’s 123-88 win over the Connecticut Sun just before the WNBA All-Star break. The technical tied her for the most in the league this season and left her just one away from an automatic one-game suspension under WNBA rules.
The Fever appealed her seventh technical in hopes of having it rescinded, but the league denied the appeal, meaning Clark will enter the second half of the season knowing that another technical foul will force her to miss a game.
That possibility has become a real concern for Indiana, with the Fever riding a strong 18-10 record and emerging as one of the WNBA’s top contenders.
Clark is the engine of the team’s offense, and any absence could significantly affect Indiana’s momentum during a crucial stretch of the season.

Speaking on Post Moves with WNBA legend Candace Parker, Boston admitted the latest technical left everyone on the Fever bench shaking their heads.
“She be playing around,” Boston said. “Like she got the tech and everybody was like, ‘Oh, here she goes.’ We’re like, ‘Go get her.’ That’s why Kelsey [Mitchell] subbed in. She’s like, ‘Why am I going back in?’ We’re like, ‘Caitlin got a tech.'”
Boston then came up with a humorous solution that would keep Clark from drawing the attention of officials.
“She can just yell at us or something, like I don’t care. … She hasn’t tried it, that’s the problem,” Boston joked. “Like, why would she do that?”
Candace Parker quickly reminded Boston that the Fever were already comfortably ahead at the time.
“That’s your teammate. Y’all were up 35 at the time.”
Boston could only laugh at the situation.
“It genuinely made no sense. It made no sense.”
While Boston’s comments were lighthearted, the issue itself is very real.
Clark has frequently expressed frustration with the physical defense she faces every night. Because of her deep shooting range and elite playmaking, opponents often pick her up well beyond the three-point line and challenge her with constant contact.

Fever head coach Stephanie White has repeatedly argued that Clark absorbs far more physical play than officials consistently call, even describing some of the contact as “cheap shots.”
That frustration has occasionally boiled over into emotional reactions toward officials.
Even so, the Fever can ill afford to lose their biggest star, even for one game.
The Fever are on a three-game winning streak, and Clark is averaging 21.0 points and a team-leading 7.9 assists per game this season. Indiana knows what she brings when she’s on the floor. Now, the challenge is making sure she stays there.
