He has been practicing regularly throughout training camp, but he has yet to do any team drills.
Giants head coach John Harbaugh revealed that won't be the case for much longer, though, and that a move to full practice participation could come as soon as after the team's preseason opener this weekend.
“Yeah, he’s kind of exactly where he’s been,” Harbaugh said via Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk . “And we’re looking towards soon ramping him up into some group periods and perhaps some team periods. Maybe next week, we’ll see. He’s doing great. He’s working hard. Spirits are high. And yeah, we’ll see where we’re at next week.”
Early reports from Giants training camp have shown that Nabers is moving quite well, but it's understandable that the team wants to be cautious with its No. 1 wide receiver.
Nabers, 23, bursted onto the scene as a rookie, reeling in 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns. He looked ready to pick up right where he left off in 2025 as he recorded 18 catches for 271 yards and two touchdowns in four games.
Unfortunately, that's when Nabers exited the team's game against the Los Angeles Chargers with an injury that was later confirmed to be a torn right ACL.
The Giants wide receiver room outside of Naber is a bit underwhelming, so Naber's health seems paramount to the success of the team this year. Slowly working Nabers up to full participation is just the next step in that process.
The No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, Naber played college football at LSU, where he had 189 catches for 3,003 yards and 21 touchdowns from 2021-23.
