See the full story · 1 sourcesAUBURN — The start of the Alex Golesh era on the Plains won't see him guiding a ranked squad, as Auburn football wasn't ranked in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll , which was unveiled Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The Tigers weren't ranked in the preseason listing, but they did receive votes and would've been ranked 33rd if the poll extended that far.
Auburn was one of 13 SEC squads to either receive a ranking or votes. Nine league members — Georgia (No. 3), Texas (No. 4), Texas A&M (No. 8), Oklahoma (No. 9), Ole Miss (No. 10), Alabama (No. 11), LSU (No. 13), Tennessee (No. 18), Missouri (No. 25) — were ranked, while Auburn joined Florida, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
