LOS ANGELES -- Fuel the magic for two more years!
Disney and Formula 1 have announced an extension of their collaboration, taking the program through 2028 and marking the next chapter by adding Disney and Pixar's Cars.
The news was unveiled at the D23 fan convention, where fans can visit the Disney Store booth for a first look at the new Disney and Pixar Cars Collection with Formula 1. Launched in 2025, the collaboration blends Disney storytelling and racing fandom through immersive experiences and merchandise.
The 2028 extension adds a new season beyond the original plan, while the addition of Pixar's "Cars" expands the partnership beyond Mickey & Friends for the first time.
"Building on the momentum established with Mickey & Friends, expanding our relationship to include Pixar's Cars at Monza GP presents an exciting opportunity to 'Fuel the Magic' and bring together two fandom communities that share the same love of speed, spectacle and heart," said Joss Hastings, senior vice president of marketing at Disney Consumer Products.
Following milestone moments at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, Chinese Grand Prix, Canadian Grand Prix and British Grand Prix, including a record-breaking Make-A-Wish auction, the partnership is shifting gears for a landmark crossover.
For the 20th anniversary of Pixar's "Cars," Piston Cup champion Lightning McQueen arrives in an all-new look at the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
Fans attending D23 this weekend can shop the new Disney and Pixar Cars Collection with Formula 1, featuring six new Disney Store first-to-market items, including a Disney Store exclusive pin, hat and fleece, alongside die-cast vehicles from Mattel.
The collection becomes available online on Aug. 14 at 9 a.m., before arriving on the Formula 1 Official Online Store and in Monza this September.
