Sean Payton shares encouraging update after Jaylen Waddle injury scare
The Denver Broncos seemingly avoided a big injury scare on Wednesday.
Denver star wide receiver Jaylen Waddle walked off the field into the locker room with his helmet. Waddle appeared to pull up when running a route on air, according to reporters on site. Broncos coach Sean Payton was asked about the receiver's status after practice ended.
"We'll evaluate him; I think he's fine," Payton said . "He had some muscle tightness."
Elsewhere on the injury front, outside linebacker Nik Bonitto ( undisclosed ), center Luke Wattenberg ( undisclosed ), outside linebacker Dondrea Tillman ( hamstring ), cornerback Jaden Robinson ( undisclosed ), outside linebacker Dasan McCullough (undisclosed) and offensive lineman Nick Gargiulo ( knee ) worked on a side field .
Bonitto appeared to be walking around well before practice, which is hopefully a good sign after he limped off the field on Tuesday.
After being given a veteran rest day on Tuesday, wide receiver Courtland Sutton did not practice again on Wednesday. Meanwhile, second-year tight end Caleb Lohner ( knee ) remains sidelined. Lohner is the only active-roster player not present at practice.
