An altercation occurred courtside during the Indiana Fever’s home game against the Las Vegas Aces. The team addressed what happened in the aftermath.
Indiana Fever fans are considered by some WNBA fanbases to be a bit too passionate at times. Games at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse can get intense, to say the least.
There have been issues with opposition players taking exception to what some fans have said in the past. And during Thursday night’s game against the Las Vegas Aces, it happened again.
The game was stopped at one point, with players on the court pointing to the sidelines. One fan was then led away, before being brought back to their seat. A statement from the Fever explained what happened.

Teams are quick to protect players when things go wrong, but there are official guidelines to follow. The Fan Code of Conduct outlines what is okay for supporters to say or not say.
On Thursday night, it seems that while the players took exception to the situation, there was no actual violation. However, as per the franchise’s statement, the fan themselves chose to leave.
“Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses,” the Fever’s statement reads.
“Security determined there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct, the fan was not removed from the arena, but elected to leave. We consider the matter closed.”
As professional sports leagues continue to work on enhancing the fan experience, situations like this are far from ideal. Fever fans will want to be a little more careful, but the organisation will want the same as well.
