If there's one move that really lit the NBA offseason on fire, we all know which one. The Miami Heat finally got the guy they so badly wanted.
After months of speculation, Pat Riley landed Giannis Antetokounmpo, giving the Heat the superstar they were looking for and instantly changing the direction of the franchise. Everything else that happened this offseason feels secondary because a player like Giannis obviously takes the spotlight.
He changes expectations, too. Miami isn't talking about rebuilding or taking small steps forward anymore. When you trade for one of the best players in the league, the goal becomes competing right away.

Of course, bringing in Giannis came at a cost. Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel'el Ware and Kasparas Jakucionis were all moved as part of the roster shakeup, while Norman Powell departed in free agency. That's a lot of talent heading out of the door at once.
The Heat were also unable to convince LeBron James to return, so the coaching staff still has work to do before the roster feels complete.
But, let's look at some other positives. One addition that shouldn't get lost in the excitement is Bobby Portis. He can score, rebound and bring energy off the bench. Tim Hardaway Jr. also joins the roster, adding another veteran presence as Miami looks to round out its rotation.

But, the biggest question is obvious. With Herro and Powell gone, where will the outside shooting come from? Defenses are going to try to contain Giannis and Adebayo whenever they can, so finding good players around them will be one of the biggest priorities throughout the season.
Still, when you add a player like Antetokounmpo, all bets are off. The Heat have one of the league's biggest stars wearing their uniform. That just there makes them one of the most fascinating teams to watch.
