There were a few eyepopping performances put together by Marion-area football players during Week 2 action Aug. 28.

Marion Star Football Player of Week 2 Poll
Elgin's Archer Johnston ran 12 times for 120 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Ridgedale.
Pleasant's Weston Shaffer ran for 389 yards and three touchdowns on 24 carries and completed 9-for-10 passes for 114 yards and three more scores in a win over Triad.
Mount Gilead's Kadin St. Clair recorded 12 tackles, two tackles for loss, a sack, a fumble recovery and an interception in a win over Upper Sandusky.
Cardington-Lincoln's Dillion Donkin averaged 11 yards per carry in putting together 77 yards on seven touches, plus he had eight tackles on defense in a loss to Mohawk.
Marion Harding's Mattic Simmers led his team with seven tackles and added 40 rushing yards in a loss to Ashland.
