One of the more exciting names to watch on the Philadelphia Eagles this season is their first-round pick from the 2026 NFL Draft, Makai Lemon. The 22-year-old is coming out of his third season at the University of Southern California, one that saw him soar above his previous campaigns, recording 1156 yards and 11 touchdowns across 79 receptions in the Big Ten.
It also helps that Lemon is slated to enter an Eagles offensive scheme that just lost one of its main receiving options, as AJ Brown was traded away shortly after the draft, leaving new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion with the task of finding new options elsewhere.
But all of this hype in the Eagles' rookie took a sharp turn during their OTAs earlier in the offseason, when Lemon suffered from a hamstring injury during the team's OTAs, which caused him to miss some time.

"Recovery is good, you know, just going out there, just pulled a hammy, nothing too crazy about that," Lemon stated to the press. "Just making sure I would recover well so that when I came out to training camp, I was 100 percent healthy.
It'd be imagined that Lemon will see some action during Philadelphia's slate of fixtures coming up, with their first preseason game coming against the Baltimore Ravens on August 15. When the regular season rolls around, Lemon will be part of a receiving core that has some stiff competition built into it, with DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, and Hollywood Brown, amongst others.
