The Jacksonville Jaguars have wrapped up the final week of the preseason.
After 20 practices, the training camp slate is officially over and the team will transition to the regular season. First they must get their roster down to 53 players, cutting nearly 40 players in the process.
Most of Jacksonville's roster was largely set going into the final preseason game, but several players helped their stocks in the win against the Buccaneers .

Quarterback (2)
Projected on roster: Trevor Lawrence , Nick Mullens
Cuts: Joey Aguilar (R), Carter Bradley
Observations: The top two choices were obvious, but the team will have decisions to make for who they keep as the practice squad quarterback. Despite Carter Bradley putting up a good effort, Joey Aguilar showed enough in the preseason to be retained as the practice squad quarterback if he isn't signed by another team after initial cuts.
Running Back (4)
Projected on roster: Chris Rodriguez Jr., Bhayshul Tuten, Ameer Abdullah, J'Mari Taylor (R)
Cuts: DeeJay Dallas
Injured reserve: LeQuint Allen (IR)
Observations: If LeQuint Allen is placed on IR, it'll open the door for an extra running back to initially be kept. The team will likely roll with rookie undrafted free agent J'Mari Taylor after a strong showing in the preseason.
Wide receiver (5)
Projected on roster: Jakobi Meyers, Brian Thomas Jr., Parker Washington , Travis Hunter , Josh Cameron (R), CJ Williams (R)
Cuts: Brady Boyd (R), Chandler Brayboy, Tim Jones, Trebor Pena (R), Austin Trammell, Michael Wortham (R)
Observations: A pretty straightforward position, the wide receiver room might be the strongest position on the roster. The team got a look at their depth as Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers and Brian Thomas Jr. missed practice time with injuries. They were able to see rookies CJ Williams and Josh Cameron in action against opponents with both players holding their own. Tim Jones and Austin Trammell are likely locks to make the practice squad.
Tight end (4)
Projected on roster: Brenton Strange , Nate Boerkircher (R), Tanner Koziol (R), Quintin Morris
Cuts: Patrick Herbert, Ethan Conner (R), Hunter Long
Observations: This was a hard position to project as the team added two rookie players this offseason and extended tight end Brenton Strange. In the end we opted to go with Quintin Morris as he's a core-four player on special teams and can add value as a pass catcher, should the team need him due to injuries.
Offensive line (10)
Projected on roster: Cole Van Lanen , Ezra Cleveland, Robert Hainsey, Anton Harrison , Walker Little, Emmanuel Pregnon (R), Jonah Monheim, Wyatt Milum, Daniel Faalele, Chuma Edoga
Cuts: Jerome Carvin, Ricky Lee, Jimto Obidegwu, Sam Mustipher, Kilian Zierer, Geron Christian , Timothy McKay
Injured reserve : Patrick Mekari, Garrett DiGiorgio (IR)/(R)
Observations: This position saw several injuries through training camp and was one that shuffled quite a bit. Getting Cole Van Lanen practice reps, albeit limited, was crucial as the team tried to make a plan for the regular season. Patrick Mekari is a candidate to go on IR as the team transitions to 53, opening a spot for Chuma Edoga to make the roster. Rookie Emmanuel Pregnon is currently projected to be a starter. Anton Harrison won the left tackle job in camp and will remain there when Van Lanen returns to the starting lineup.
Defensive line/Edge rusher (10)
Projected on roster: Josh Hines-Allen , DaVon Hamilton, Arik Armstead, Travon Walker , Ruke Orhorhoro, Matt Dickerson, Albert Regis (R), BJ Green II , Wesley Williams (R), Bryan Thomas Jr. (R),
Cuts: Keivie Rose, Zach Durfee (R), T.J. Bollers (R), Jalen Hunt (R), Quindarius Dunnigan, Tommy Akingbesote, Danny Striggow
Observations: What a buzzer-beater performance from Bryan Thomas Jr.? The undrafted free agent closed out the preseason with 2.5 sacks and two tackles for a loss against Tampa Bay. It should be enough to earn a roster spot as a depth edge rusher. Zach Durfee flashed in the middle of camp, but had his progress halted by an injury. Matt Dickerson showed his value after being originally seen as a potential cut candidate when camp began.
Linebacker (5)
Projected on roster: Foye Oluokun , Ventrell Miller, Dennis Gardeck, Branson Combs , Yasir Abdullah
Cuts: Jahlani Tavai, Amari Burney, Jalen McLeod, Baylon Spector
Injured reserve : Jack Kiser (IR), Parker Hughes (R/IR)
Observations: Jack Kiser missed the entirety of training camp after suffering a knee injury on the opening day. Parker Hughes was placed on season-ending IR already. There's potential for Jahlani Tavai to survive cuts as the team opts to go heavy at a position with several injuries. The battle between Yasir Abdullah and Jalen McLeod might've gone the other way if McLeod didn't get hurt in camp. For now, we sided with the veteran player.
Cornerback (5)
Projected on roster: Travis Hunter , Montaric Brown , Jourdan Lewis , Jarrian Jones , Jabbar Muhammad
Cuts: Christian Braswell, Preston Hodge (R), Corey Ballentine
Observations: In one of the closest races, we're leaning with Jabbar Muhammad over Christian Braswell for the last spot in the cornerback room. Muhammad had a sustained rise throughout the offseason and training camp. He earned the opportunity to make the main roster. Braswell will likely be retained on the practice squad as the team keeps Hodge and Ballentine as well.
Safety (5)
