Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in Philadelphia, Pa., later TONIGHT (Sat., Aug. 15, 2026) to stage UFC 330 from inside Xfinity Mobile Arena streaming live on Paramount+ . Headlining the event is a Welterweight title fight as division kingpin, Islam Makhachev , will face off against No. 1-seeded contender , Ian Machado-Garry . In the second title fight of the night, women’s Strawweight champion, Mackenzie Dern , will battle it out against Gillian Robertson .

In his Welterweight debut, Makhachev won the title by rag-dolling Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322 back in Nov. 2025, giving him his second world title in as many divisions after previously winning the Lightweight crown in Oct. 2022, and then defending it four times before vacating to move up . Makhachev has already cemented himself as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the sport, nicely filling the big shoes left behind by his trainer and mentor, Khabib Nurmagomedov . Think about that for a second: When was the last time one camp produced two men who held the top pound-for-pound spot? They are doing something right, and so is Makhachev, who has been on a tear since suffering his first (and only) defeat back in 2015 ( see it here ). Now, he will attempt to lock down his first-ever, 170-pound title defense and further elevate his stock as one of the best to ever step foot inside a mixed martial arts (MMA) cage.
Makhachev’s next test will come in the form of Machado-Garry, who has more than earned his shot at the title thanks to his 10-1 mark inside the Octagon. Though we would be kidding ourselves that the title shot may have come by default seeing as how Shavkat Rakhmonov (19-0, 7-0 UFC) — who has a win over Garry — could have very well been fighting for the strap had he not been plagued by injuries , costing him two years of his career. Nevertheless, Garry has the opportunity of a lifetime here to become champion and take down the man deemed to be unstoppable. That said, he will have to be on his “A” game and near-perfect if he wants to dethrone Makhachev, who has shown little-to-no weaknesses inside the Octagon. Garry has the size advantage ( see it here ), but so did Maddalena … and that didn’t deter Makhachev from having his way with Jack Della inside the cage. Garry might be just a bit more well-rounded than “JDM” and a bit faster, as well. Garry has a golden opportunity to be the first man since Conor McGregor to bring a world title back to Ireland, and coincidentally enough, do it against a man from Dagestan. If you know, you know .
Original Card Vs. Actual Card /Injuries
Erin Blanchfield vs. Jasmine Jasudavicius were set to throw down before Blanchfield pulled out with an injury; therefore, the bout will now take place in October. Also, a Welterweight bout between Geoff Neal vs. Chidi Njokuani was scheduled for the event before Neal withdrew for undisclosed reasons and was replaced by Joel Alvarez.
Charles Johnson vs. Eduardo Henrique will throw down in a Catchweight fight of 130 pounds on the main card. This late fight came to fruition earlier this week (the reason it’s a Catchweight fight) after Jose Ochoa was forced out of his scheduled matchup against Johnson with an injury .
New Blood:
After suffering back-to-back losses, including one on Contender Series , Lucas Fernando eventually went on to rack up four straight wins to finally earn his spot on UFC’s roster. Of course, he will have to get a win, or at least put on a great performance in defeat, to hang on to his spot as he makes his promotional debut against Rafael Tobias , who came up short in his own debut back in March of this year against Diyar Nurgozhay , his first loss in three years.
Former LFA Flyweight champion, Eduardo Henrique , will get the chance to shine on the big stage after agreeing to fill in the void for Jose Ochao on just four days notice. “Chapolin” is riding a five-fight win streak and with an overall record of 15-2. The talented 125-pounder has a golden opportunity to impress right away, but it remains to be seen if the short-notice nature of the bout will play a factor in his performance. As for Johnson, he is looking for a little bit more consistency when it comes to getting wins, alternating wins and losses over his last six contests.
How The ‘Prelims’ Look:
Vicente Luque was able to get back on the winning track, snapping his two-fight losing streak by defeating Kelvin Gastelum earlier this year with an impress submission win ( see it again here ). Now, the long-time veteran is out to secure his first back-to-back win streak in five years when he goes up against Tresean Gore , who was able to snap his two-fight skid with a submission win over Azamat Bekoev four months ago.
Undefeated (8-0, 2-0 UFC) standout Donte Johnson will look to keep his hot streak going against Eric McConico in a Middleweight bout. Johnson has seven stoppages to his credit (six knockouts, one submission), so he is all-business once the cage door...
