NEW YORK (WABC) -- It has been a morning of heavy rain, flash flooding and downed trees for residents across the Tri-State on Monday.
The flooding in New Jersey made the morning commute very dangerous and most of the area remains under a Flash Flood Warning.
In Newark, cars stalled after drivers got caught in the high water and had to push their vehicles to higher and drier land.
It was much of the same story in Paterson where cars got stranded outside of St. Joseph Hospital.
And in Westwood, some roads had to be shut down due to all the flooding from the Pascack Brook.
The location has a flood monitor because the area has a history of flooding with heavy rainfall in a short period of time.
The weather also brought down trees across the area, including into a charter bus in Westport, Connecticut.
At least one of the bus's windows was broken when the tree came down on I-95 around 6:45 a.m.
Sixteen people were onboard at the time and a few passengers suffered minor injuries.
On Long Island, a large tree fell onto the LIRR tracks in Smithtown. A train crashed into the tree, smashing the window to the engineer's compartment.
One person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
