USC Officially Opens New Football Performance Center

Philanthropist and alumnus Ronald H. Bloom and his family donated $50 million to USC to help fund the construction of the football facility. USC raised more than $200 million to build the new facility and is looking to raise an additional $20 million to complete the project.
“This building is magical,” said USC head coach Lincoln Riley, per USC's press release. “To come in here for the first time was powerful. It's a significant step for our program.”
The facility has three stories. The first floor is dedicated to player experience and development, the second floor is centered around game preparation, player development and team connection, and the third floor has the coaches' offices.
The new facility also features several different recovery modalities for the players to utilize, including float beds, infrared therapy beds, sleep pods, AI-powered massage chairs from Japan and zero-gravity chairs.
“The recovery for the players in this building is off the charts,” Riley said. “It’s so important. The ability we have from the number of people we can recover via all different types of modalities at the same time is exponentially greater than anything we’ve ever had before. The recovery technology we have not only gets us ahead of where we were at, but it puts us ahead of just about any athletic facility out there.”
The new facility is the second-largest capital project in USC Athletics' history. The LA Memorial Coliseum is the most expensive project in the USC Athletics' history, totaling $315 million in renovations.
USC is also in the middle of building a new baseball stadium and dedicated golf practice facility.
