WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Washington Mystics are headed back to the postseason for the first time since 2023 after securing a playoff berth with a win over the Portland Fire on Sunday.
The Mystics improved to 22-15 with the victory and have been one of the league’s hottest teams over the past month. Washington opened August by putting together a seven-game winning streak, helping push the team firmly into the playoff picture.
With seven games remaining in the regular season, Washington currently sits in seventh place in the standings.
The Mystics will have an opportunity to improve their playoff positioning down the stretch, with several teams still within reach as the regular season enters its final month.
