The WNBA All-Star break has come and gone, and that means the true contenders are looking to bolster their rosters before the final stretch of the 2026 regular season.
As the calendar flips to August, it's time to focus on the trade deadline. A few general managers will attempt to add talent, while others are more interested in obtaining assets as part of rebuilds.
Here is everything you need to know about the WNBA trade deadline, including the top available players who could be on the move.

Date: Sunday, Aug. 2
Time: 3 p.m. ET
The deadline for WNBA teams to complete trades is 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 2. Once that deadline passes, teams will not be able to make trades for the rest of the 2026 season.

Kelsey Plum (G, Sparks)
The Sparks have lost six straight games, sliding down the standings after hovering around .500 to start the season. With Los Angeles unlikely to secure a postseason berth and Plum set to hit free agency, a trade feels inevitable.
In her second year with the Sparks, Plum has only appeared in 12 games because of a leg injury, but she is averaging 23.9 points and 6.4 assists in limited action. She could provide a significant boost for a playoff hopeful, so there may be a bidding war at the deadline.
Natasha Cloud (G, Sky)
As a role player in Chicago, Cloud has posted 9.9 points, 4.6 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game. While her numbers are down compared to previous years, the 34-year-old would provide a steady veteran presence on the floor and in the locker room.
Betnijah Laney-Hamilton (F, Liberty)
In her fifth season with the Liberty, Laney-Hamilton is averaging just 4.7 points in 16.8 minutes per game. She hasn't been able to make a major impact since returning from a knee injury that forced her to miss the entire 2025 season.
With Laney-Hamilton playing on an expiring contract and unable to find a consistent role in New York, the Liberty may decide to send her out for a younger player or future draft pick.
Natisha Hiedeman (G, Storm)
After spending the previous two seasons in Minnesota, Hiedeman is having a career year in Seattle. The 29-year-old guard is averaging 16.1 points and 4.6 assists, and she hasn't missed a game this season. And yet, the Storm are sitting at the bottom of the standings with a record of 6-24.
Hiedeman is signed through the 2027 season, so if she is moved, her next team would have her under contract for an additional year.
Maddy Siegrist (F, Wings)
With the emergence of rookie Azzi Fudd and All-Star Jessica Shepard, Siegrist has seen a significant drop in her minutes (27.0 minutes per game in 2025 to 14.0 in 2026) and scoring opportunities (10.3 field goal attempts per game in 2025 to 5.0 in 2026).
Dallas could keep Siegrist as an off-the-bench scorer ahead of the playoffs, but it may try to find another role player who would serve as a better complementary piece.
