Newly-obtained surveillance footage shows Brooklyn fiery crash, possibly linked to stabbing By Eyewitness News Tuesday, August 4, 2026 8:41PM One of the victims was found to be suffering from stab wounds. CYPRESS HILLS, Brooklyn (WABC) -- Two people on a motorcycle were critically hurt, and one of them was found stabbed, after a collision with a car in Brooklyn.
A 2009 grey Acura TSX was westbound on Highland Boulevard in East New York, near Cypress Hills, when it collided with the motorcycle just before 10 p.m. Monday.
When police arrived, they found two people from the moped who were critically injured.
An unidentified man was ejected and suffered severe head trauma, and a 17-year-old was stabbed multiple times.
Both were taken to Brookdale University Hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the Acura with Pennsylvania license plates fled the scene and is being sought for questioning.
Detectives are looking into the stabbing as the possible result of the crash.
On Tuesday, Eyewitness News obtained surveillance footage of the crash, showing the Acura hit the motorcycle head-on before the motorcycle burst into flames. Two people near the car are seen running from the scene while covering their faces with their clothes.
"I was napping last night about 9:30 when all this went down," said Jim Muskewitz, who has lived in this part of Brooklyn two different times since the 1970s. "This is East New York, this is a bad news place over here. We had a killing around the s-curve a couple of years ago."
Police crime tape was up throughout the day on Tuesday, and smashed pieces of the vehicles were still scattered across Highland Boulevard.
Muskewitz said the crime was not surprising, given what he's seen in the past.
"A lot of stuff went down, welcome to the wild west you guys," he said. "It's not uncommon, there's a lot of gang related activity over here."
